\x0a \x0a \x0a \x0a\x0aRemember how I got sick on my last day in London? I still have a residual cough that, while not bad enough to make me go to the doctor, is still kind of annoying (especially in the mornings, when I wake my husband by hacking and gasping. He loves this). So this morning I puttered around on Grannymed.com looking for some home remedies for a lingering cough. The site recommends licorice, aloe, and even chocolate (!), but this recipe (which once again uses the magic curative, garlic) sounded best to me.
\x0a\x0aSimmer a garlic clove in water until soft. Muddle garlic and 1 tbsp honey, then add 1 tbsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Consume.

I caught this same cold at the end of my London/Paris trip too. I don’t know if I feel better or worse that more people have this weird cough thing. Might try out this remedy though.

\x0a \x0a \x0a \x0a\x0aThank you to everyone who loves comic books.
\x0aGrowing up I was heckled and beaten up because I believed a man could fly.
\x0aMy own teachers from elementary school up to college told me what I enjoyed was “childish fantasy” at best, “it’s not art, it’s shit” at worst. Even today I can kiss sex goodbye if I bring up Crisis, Mjolnir or the H-E-R-O dial (it happens).
\x0aI’ve never seen anything wrong with comic books, only positive. We all have our own reasons… to me it’s a different sense of amazement compared to motion pictures or traditional literature… elements that are highly influential on my life than just mere entertainment.
\x0aIt’s mighty, spectacular, uncanny, astonishing, incredible… it’s fantastic.
\x0aAlex Ross described the symbols above based on what they meant to him.
\x0aThat’s fucking cool.
