These are supposed to be the new teaser posters for Disney’s Frozen coming out this November (via Bleeding Cool). 

They were released by this site called Cine 1, but there’s no other information along with it. No press release. Nothing. So I’m inclined to to think these are fake or unfinished or I dunno.

I really hope I’m right, because otherwise Anna has the EXACT same face as Rapunzel. And Elsa doesn’t look like a classic Disney villain at all. The snowflakes look like clipart. It just seems all off. Especially compared to the production art. 

So Disney updated the official look for their Princess line. Overall I like it, not thrilled but okay. 

Things I like:

New hairstyles on Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine. I think it’s nice that it’s a little bit more loose and “messy”.

Belle looks more “French” to me now with that hair. I dunno why. 

Yay! Cinderella has ears now!

Things that bug me:

Why did you make Mulan even more girly?! This whole look is what she hated in the movie…. why?!? 

Aurora looks nothing like the Art Deco style she was designed around. The lost of her weird signature bang makes me sad. 

Pocahontas… somehow I bet what she’s wearing isn’t historically accurate and probably offensive. (I might be wrong, but I doubt it.)

Ever since I sent in that bit about wanting Frozen to feature a cast of Indigenous Arctic characters, I’ve been imagining in my head what it might look like. I came across this episode from Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child, an old show that retold classic fairy tales through different cultural perspectives. This version of The Snow Queen featured Inuit characters with the original girl-saves-boy story. Plus, the Snow Queen is voiced by Eartha Kitt!
